As a child, there was nothing more exciting in the summer then the Fair. As a 4-H Agent, that fair excitement is often trumped by the concerns over issues (real or potential) that these events can cause. This year our family has visited five county fairs so far. We plan to hit one more...we are headed to the Hunterdon County Fair for the Tractor Pull. Tommy can't stop talking about it!

Lily on her first pony ride. First of many, I am sure!

Tommy didn't want to leave the tractor barn...he could have stayed their all night.
Lily waiting for the chicken poop bingo at the Mercer County Fair.
Talk about teamwork...Tommy pumping water for Lily.
The fair is magical for children. Watching our kids interact with 4-H members from around the state at the Fairs helped me see the magic in these very special events. It helped remind me why our 4-H program and 4-H fairs are so important to so many people.
